Oh how bitter a thing it is to look at happiness through another man's eyes...

the icon age

I recently have become obssessed with icons. Two I enjoy...

:iconifeelfluffyplz:

:iconlmaopizza:

The idea of an "ikon" is something that represents something else that is unable to be realistically represented, but requires a more figurative depiction. What do these represent? Are they necessary to represent what they depict or do they represent something deeper about humanity? How do words change from meaningful to flippant in the course of a mere decade?

I understand I am a not-so-closeted over-analyser/erstwhile philosopher, but I don't take myself super-seriously. I am tired of the people who are so focused on making a statement to everyone else, they pay no attention what that statement is doing to them, eating them alive and sapping them of their individuality from that one statement, making them synonymous to that one idea, in effect limiting them. They are more than a statement, but they seemed determined not to be.

Jane Eyre

1 min read
I just watched Jane Eyre in the movie theatre with some of my friends and....

I came away with three things.

1. The film is A-Maz-Ing; the direction, editing, acting, and screenplay are all absolutely marvelous.

2. It is unfair for a film to make me hate Jamie Bell that much. Just not cool. He is so awesome at first, but then he opens his mouth and and Dammit! I remember how much I hate the character he is playing.

3. All I require in life to die happy is for a man who is in love with me to gaze at me with smouldering intensity and say, "You transfix me quite." Nuff said!
