I recently have become obssessed with icons. Two I enjoy...
The idea of an "ikon" is something that represents something else that is unable to be realistically represented, but requires a more figurative depiction. What do these represent? Are they necessary to represent what they depict or do they represent something deeper about humanity? How do words change from meaningful to flippant in the course of a mere decade?
I understand I am a not-so-closeted over-analyser/erstwhile philosopher, but I don't take myself super-seriously. I am tired of the people who are so focused on making a statement to everyone else, they pay no attention what that statement is doing to them, eating them alive and sapping them of their individuality from that one statement, making them synonymous to that one idea, in effect limiting them. They are more than a statement, but they seemed determined not to be.
